Frequently Asked Questions

1

What skills do I need to take the workshop?

You only need a foundational grasp of digital tools to open Figma and Google Meet. I also expect my students to be curious, committed, and open-minded.

All professional backgrounds and age-groups are welcome!

How is this design course different from others?

2

This is a design thinking program, not a visual design or product design program. I created the Rapid Press Club to help folks that started a project and then for some reason got stuck in the process.

The workshop will also help you if you want to start an idea from scratch.

What is design thinking?

3

Design thinking is a human-centered, iterative framework used to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems, and create innovative solutions. Rather than rushing to solve a problem as it is first presented, design thinking focuses on discovering the real, underlying human need behind it.

My students have used it to make a career change, to write a book, to make their home more accessible and organized, to make an app, to open a business, to take a film from production to post-production, to open a small press, to create the concept a co-living service, and more!

How many hours will the course take weekly?

4

That is up to you! The workshop is personalized, and we will discuss goals and timing during the second session.

The sessions take between 60 and 90 minutes and are every other week so that you have enough time to make progress.

I understand that life is complex and unpredictable, so I am as flexible as I can, but I also want you to make progress.

What is the cost of the workshop?

5

$70 per person, per session when committing to all 7-sessions ($490).

$65 per session, per person, when working as a pair committing to all 7-sessions ($455 each student).

$95 per single feedback or consulting sessions.
